Day 1: Oslo – Myrdal – Flam – Gudvangen – Voss-Bergen
Thundering waterfalls, tranquil scenes of pastoral beauty, sheer cliffs and the hairpin twists and turns of Norway’s longest, deepest fjord…there is no other word to describe this trip but dramatic, and there is no better way to see it all in one day but the Norway in a Nutshell tour.

Starting your journey on the Bergen railway, you will climb high into the mountains, through tiny alpine villages, past snow-capped peaks and across tundra landscapes where wild reindeer graze.
After arriving in Myrdal, you will transfer to the Flåm Railway for a spectacularly steep ride down the arm of Norway’s beautiful Sognefjord.

You will arrive at the fjordside hamlet of Flåm, where you may wish to overnight with dinner and accommodation at the elegant Fretheim Hotel. Otherwise, continue your tour by boat into the world’s longest fjord, the Sognefjord. The sheer cliffs, cascading waterfalls, verdant pastures and sun-dappled orchards that adorn the Sognefjord are best seen by water. Travelling by boat, you will traverse Naeroyfjord, Europe’s narrowest fjord, recently named a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Docking at the village of Gudvangen, you will then journey by coach through the hairpin curves of Stalheimskleivane Road before arriving at the beautifully situated Stalheim Hotel, where you may also wish to overnight or continue your journey.

Arriving in Voss, Norway’s adventure capital, you will transfer to the train that will take you to the colourful maritime city of Bergen. Sit back, relax and absorb the spectacular scenery as it unfolds before you on the final leg of this tour.
