Itinerary Day 1 Home City – Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Day 2 Arrive Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Meet on arrival and transfer to your first class hotel Hotel: Equatorial Hotel or Grand Palace Hotel (1 night) Day 3 Ho Chi Minh City (Embarkation) (B/L/D) After breakfast a local guide will escort your morning sightseeing tour of the city prior to transfer to the ship. After check-in and a buffet lunch onboard the city tour continues including a rickshaw ride to the main Market with free time. Dinner onboard and the evening at leisure. Cruise Ship: RV Indochine (9 nights) Day 4 Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/D) This morning we visit the Cu Chi Tunnels complex which were built during the Vietnam War. Return to the city and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, set sail on your fabulous Mekong adventure! Enjoy a welcome cocktail and meet the crew/info meeting before your sit down dinner on board. Day 5 My Tho - Cai Be - Vinh Long (B/L/D) This morning the sightseeing of My Tho includes by crossing the river on local boats, a visit by bus to the Vinh Trang pagoda and a panoramic tour of the city with stops at a local Snake Farm and market. Afterwards, return to the pier and visit Thoi Son Island in local boats. Lunch onboard the ship while sailing to Cai Be & Vinh Long. On arrival in Cai Be you will tour the floating market in local boats. Then continue to Vinh Long Island located in the centre of the Delta. Return to the ship in the late afternoon and set sail for Sa Dec. Enjoy an informal lecture and talk on "Vietnam: yesterday, today, & tomorrow" onboard. Day 6 Sa Dec - Chau Doc (B/L/D) Today enjoy a panoramic tour of Sa Dec by coach including a visit to a Bonsai Seedbed. Sail to Chau Doc. Lunch on board prior to arrival at Chau Doc where we visit a village of the local minority Cham community. In Chau Doc, visit the Chua Xu Temple and the Tay An Pagoda. Dinner is onboard with a free evening to explore the nearby market. Return to the ship and set sail upstream where you will lay anchor for the night. Day 7 Koh Dek Chau (border crossing) - Phnom Penh, Cambodia (B/L/D) Departure to Vinh Xuong, the Vietnamese border. Arrival at the border with Cambodia. The ship leaves the border and sails to the island of Koh Dek Chau. Lunch onboard with free time to visit this tiny island. Later, our on-board guides will present a lecture on Cambodia past and present. Dinner on board. Evening arrival to Phnom Penh. Day 8 Phnom Penh (B/L/D) Today a tour of the capital of Cambodia including the Royal Palace Complex. Following lunch onboard the tour continues with a visit to the National Museum and an excursion to the infamous "Killings Fields". Dinner onboard and the balance of the evening is free. Day 9 Phnom Penh (B/L/D) Enjoy another delightful day in Cambodia's capital. In the morning enjoy a thrilling ride through the city streets via the local tuk-tuks (motorized tricycles) which will drop you off at the Russian Market for shopping. Lunch onboard with the afternoon free to explore the area. This evening, enjoy dinner and a special live performance by a local folklore group. The balance of the evening is free. Day 10 Koh Chen - Kampong Tralach (B/L/D) After breakfast, tour this small village renowned for its silver making. Lunch onboard while sailing to Kampong Tralach where upon arrival tour the village and rice plantations. Return to the ship and continue sailing with dinner onboard. Day 11 Kampong Chhnang - Floating Village - Tonle Sap (B/L/D) Kampong Chhnang is a large fishing port and the centre of fish farming. It is also famous for its archaic pottery making. Your walking/mini-bus tour will take you to a pottery farm and a local village. Lunch onboard while sailing to Tonle Sap Lake. Here set sail via local boats through the "Floating Village". Tonight our festive Captain's Farewell Dinner! Day 12 Siem Reap (Disembarkation) (B/D) High water: Early this morning, the RV "Indochine" crosses the vast 150 km wide Tonle Sap Lake (approximate sailing time is 4 to 5 hrs). On arrival to the port, bid your wonderful crew and ship goodbye as you disembark and transfer to the city. Low water: After breakfast, you will cross the Tonle Sap Lake via speed boat or hydrofoil (approximately 3 hrs) arriving at Siem Reap port around 11:00. Transfer to the town and check into hotel. In the afternoon, depart by bus on your introductory tour of this fast growing gateway to the Angkor Temples. Stops will include the renowned Land Mine Museum and the local market. Following a walking tour, the tour will end in the town centre prior to enjoying dinner at either the "Red Piano" restaurant, or at the "Champey" Restaurant. After dinner, free time and return to the hotel on your own. Hotel: Sokha Hotel, Prince D' Angkor or Angkor Century Hotel (3 nights) Day 13 Siem Reap - Angkor Temples (B/L/D) A full day of exploring the fascinating "Lost City of Angkor". Once the capital of the ancient Khmer empire, the temples were rediscovered at the end of the 19th century to reveal the "8th Wonder of the World" - the ancient Temples of Angkor Wat (UNESCO). In the morning visit the south gates of Angkor Thom, Bayan, Baphoun Temple, Elephant Terrace, the Royal enclosure and the terrace of the Leper King. After lunch at the FCC Club we visit Ta Prhom and the magnificent main Temples of Angkor Wat. Return to your hotel after sunset. This evening enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner, free time to explore the lively downtown night life. Day 14 Siem Reap (B) A full free day to do as you please or take the optional half day "Tuk-Tuk" tour (motorized tricycle). The balance of the day is free and meals are on your own. Day 15 Depart Siem Reap (B) After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your homebound flights.
