GLP Worldwide has become one of Canada’s pre-eminent niche cruise and land tour companies since it was founded by Patrick Tsung and Gordon Dreger in the late 1990s.
A culmination of over 30 years of combined experience in the international travel market and a desire to fill the gap in the market for premium itineraries brought Patrick and Gordon together. In less than 10 years, GLP has grown to an organization of 23 dedicated employees who share the passion of the founders and who are constantly striving to improve their knowledge to deliver the best possible service to our clients.
The 21st century has brought mass marketing and information overload to consumers with the travel industry being a prime example. It’s about being bigger and offering more while still claiming to be the “best”. At GLP, we work with a limited number of cruise and land suppliers who we have gotten to know personally and intimately who have become our friends. By getting to know their ships, their hotels and most of all, their people, we can collaborate to ensure that our travel professional clients and ultimately each traveller gets the benefit of a smooth and seamless journey, no matter what the destination.
We started in Asia which we knew best and quickly became one of the most respected Canadian tour operators to that part the world. We then realized the demand for interesting cruise programs – not just on the floating behemoths – and so we began to work with specialty operators like Hurtigruten of Norway and Amadeus Waterways with its stunning and brand new ships on the European waterways. We continue to seek out new destinations and programs to offer to an increasingly discerning market and recently added niche river cruise programs from Lüftner Cruises as well as smaller ocean voyages on Fred Olsen Cruise Lines of the U.K.
Above all, our commitment is to our customers – our travel professionals and every passenger. We work hard to make sure each travel experience is a wonderful one, from the first inquiry until the trip is over and everyone is safely back at home. This is what makes us different from everyone else in the business and we are proud of that.
